Dr. Tracey Hughes
Tracey Ray Hughes, DDS was born and raised in Urbandale, Iowa. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Buena Vista College, obtaining a degree in Biology and Chemistry in 1994. After her undergraduate education, Dr. Tracey went on to receive her dental degree (DDS) from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1998 where she graduated with Omicron Kappa Upsilon honors. Dr. Tracey continued her dental education by completing an advanced education in general dentistry (AEGD) through the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry in 1999.

About Dr. Tracey Hughes
In 2001, Dr. Tracey purchased her first private practice in Riverside, Iowa where she made it her mission to provide a more relaxing, comfortable dental experience for fearful patients. She was trained and certified to provide Sedation Dentistry in her practice. In 2007, she and her family relocated to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado where she purchased and ran her second private practice for 15 years. She and her children enjoyed all the mountains had to offer including hiking, mountain biking and downhill skiing.
Dr. Tracey is also a past graduate of the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), studying both cosmetic and physiologic dentistry. Dr. Tracey was also selected as one of forty-eight clinical instructors in the world to teach at LVI. Dr. Tracey formerly instructed the Foundations course in diagnosing and treating complex cases as well as Aesthetics programs, teaching dentists from around the world state-of-the-art cosmetic and physiologic dentistry.
Dr. Tracey maintains active memberships in the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Iowa Dental Association. She was an active board member in the International Association of Physiologic Aesthetics (IAPA) for 4 years.
In 2007, Dr. Tracey advanced her knowledge and skills in Laser Dentistry, being one of the first of 500 dentists certified in the LANAP protocol using the PerioLase MVP-7 across the country. Currently, she is the only dentist in Central Iowa offering this truly revolutionary treatment alternative to traditional gum surgery.
Dr. Tracey enjoys the outdoors, exploring beaches and mountains with her two adult children, Benjamin and Camryn. It’s not uncommon to hear many of her BIG fishing stories, so don’t hesitate to ask her next time you are in the office! She is excited to meet you soon.
